God loves fireworks. If you don't believe me just take a look at
these pictures. Those are the best fireworks I've ever seen and
there's no thunderous explosion of sound to assault my ears.
Remember the story of King Midas. Everything he touched turned to
gold. Midas's golden moment didn't last long; his golden touch was a
horrible curse. His problem was worse than that of a leper because he
couldn't touch members of his family or even eat food without
transforming them into gold. Gold ruined his life.
God doesn't have King Midas's problem and when God makes a plan things
work out.
When God created the world He had a master plan. God decided that
everything He touched would turn to beauty. God doesn't do ugly.
He only does beauty and He does it on a grand scale. Beauty is God's
fingerprint.
If God does beauty guess what man does? Does the word UGLY pop into
your mind?
Let's see what happens when man touches something. We have global
warming, weapons of mass destruction, toxic waste dumps, mountains of
rubbish and urban wastelands called cities. You'll see a lot of things when
you stroll down the streets of New York and Calcutta, but the chances are
you're not going to be overwhelmed by beauty. Ugly definitely has the
upper hand in every modern metropolis. There are bright spots here and
there to remind you that beauty is out there somewhere but you have to look
for it.
Everything that God creates is beautiful. I've been alive for more
than half a century and during all those years I've never found anything
created by God that wasn't beautiful. I think that's why I love beauty
so much. It's the closest I can come to actually touching God.
It's like God and I are living on opposite sides of a two way mirror.
On his side He touches things and makes them beautiful. On my side I
touch the same things and experience his beauty. I can see the tip of
his finger and my finger coming together in a million beautiful places
around the world.

fireworks and my finger is preparing to touch God.
