This is Goliath, ruler of the Exumas Land and Sea Park. At least he
thinks he is the ruler of the park. He struts his stuff in all his
scaly glory. He is a lizard with attitude. Someone must have
told him that he is protected on this island, and so he pushes his brazen
envelope to go where no lizard has gone before.
Goliath peeks over a rock, surveying his domain for invaders. It's his
job to insure that no one passes this way without showing due respect for Goliath
of Lizard Land. Here is a translation of Goliath's thoughts from lizard
language into English. "Oh, Oh. Here comes a bunch of yachties
walking on the trail to Boo Boo Hill. I better get out there and show
them who's boss. I'll just climb over the edge of this rock, arch my
back, bare my claws, and let them see me in attack mode."
"Ok you yachties. If you come any closer, you are in big trouble.
I am poised for action. My needle sharp claws and ferocious bite will
teach you a lesson you'll never forget! That's right. You're in
Lizard Land now, and I'm the one in charge here."
"Take a look at this yachtie. He's bending down to take a picture.
I'm going to make his day. I'll out flank him and attack from the
rear. First I'll hop up on his shoe and check out his heel. This
dude's got Tevas on, and so he has good taste. But what I really want
to know is whether he tastes good."
"Take a look at those buns. If I bite them, I might be biting off more
than I can chew. I may be Goliath, ruler of Lizard Land, but sometimes
prudence is the better part of valor. I'll let
David live this time. After all, it's pretty obvious....if David
and Goliath ever get into a battle, Goliath will emerge the winner."
